FAQs
HOW DOES IT WORK?
The laser emits a light that is absorbed by the pigment in the hair. In the clinic, we utilise SWT (selective waveband technology) to target the hair with narrow wavelengths of light. This light energy is designed to destroy hair follicles in the skin which disrupts the hair growth. This method uses less heat on your skin making it a more comfortable experience.
HOW LONG DO THE RESULTS LAST?
The hairs are targeted and permanently destroyed. However, our bodies are programmed to produce hair and some strands can regrow at a slow rate. We recommend a booster session to be carried out annually to prolong the result.
WHO IS IT NOT SUITABLE FOR?
It is not suitable during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
It is not suitable if Roaccutane medication has been taken within the last 6 months.
It is not suitable for people who suffer hypertrophic or keloid scarring.
It is not suitable for light/blonde hairs.
It is not suitable for Afro-Caribbean skin types.
It is not suitable if the treatment area is covered by a tattoo.
A full medical history and patch test will be carried out for every client to ensure suitability for treatment.
ARE THERE ANY CONTRA-INDICATIONS?
Avoid sun exposure for 7 days prior to treatment.
Avoid self-tanning use for 7 days prior to treatment.
Avoid retinol use for 7 days prior to treatment.
Avoid plucking, waxing, bleaching and threading during the course of treatment.
IS IT SORE?
This treatment is tolerated well by clients. At the beginning of treatment when there is more hair, this tends to be the most uncomfortable, because the hair absorbs the energy. As you progress with the course and have less hair, it tends to become more comfortable. The practitioner will apply a good amount of cooling gel to take any discomfort away.
