FAQs
HOW DOES IT WORK?
The device uses small needles to gently penetrate the skin. These microscopic wounds trigger your body to produce collagen & elastin, which allows your skin to heal looking younger, brighter & more even toned.
HOW LONG DOES IT LAST?
As the skin is always renewing itself, it is impossible to say how long the effects of a SkinPen will last. A good tailored, home skincare routine will enhance the duration of results.
We recommend a course of 4-6 treatments, 4 weeks apart for optimum results.
WHO IS SKINPEN NOT SUITABLE FOR?
It is not suitable when pregnant or breastfeeding.
It is not suitable for people who are currently, or in the previous 18 months, have used Roaccutane (acne treatment).
A full medical history and assessment will be carried out for every client to ensure suitability for treatment.
ARE THERE ANY CONTRA-INDICATIONS?
Avoid sun exposure for 7 days prior to treatment.
Avoid retinol use for 7 days prior to treatment.
Avoid facial waxing for 7 days prior to treatment.
Avoid the use of active acids for 3 days prior to treatment.
Avoid Microblading eyebrows for 6 weeks prior to treatment.
Avoid injectable treatments 2 weeks before & after treatment.
IS IT SORE?
SkinPen is designed to be as painless as possible. The needle tip is designed to be incredibly thin, while the handheld device delivers needle injections as quickly as possible. As a result, many patients
often report feeling little discomfort.
If you do experience any discomfort with your SkinPen procedure, it’s likely to happen on the bonier areas of your face – your jawline, forehead and hairline but a topical numbing cream is used to minimise this.
